Loop stitch bridge was a proposal for a pedestrian bridge addition to a historical auto bridge in Pittsburgh. The original bridge was the 'end' bridge of a series that connected park way systems along both sides of the main river. This pedestrian bridge addition 'stitched' together the park areas flanking the river making a 'loop' to direct people back toward the city.
• Pedestrian traffic promotion
• Urban fabric metaphor
• Extending use of urban park way system
• Creating view scapes of the city
• Operable shading features
