This new eco friendly gallery space was generated by the owner's interest in showing work that tells a story. The art products were created within their localities: for example woven mittens shown in the gallery are woven in the same place that the sheep are sheered and cared for; one of a kind hand bags are sewn by local seamstresses.
The new design included extensive rehabilitation of a historic commercial using environmentally intelligent strategies and code upgrades to increase the building valuation. The spacial concept organized the linear gallery into three metaphors for nature: Field, Garden, and Grove. These feature spaces relate to lighting, density, color selection, and circulation patterns.
• Energy saving lighting
• Wood material recycling
• Celebration of historical restoration
• Natural light maximization
